Turtle Beach Guest House

Turtle Beach

Akwaaba - Welcome to Turtle Beach!

Turtle Beach Guest House is located in Teshie, a suburb of Accra along Accra-Tema Beach Road. It is directly overlooking the coast of Gulf of Guinea, and boasts unparalleled views over the Atlantic Ocean which provides easy access to the sandy beach fringed by coconut trees.

The serene atmosphere of the beach is ideal for relaxing, while enjoying the sunny-sandy beach and the sea breeze from the ocean.

The main motive behind the building of this guest house is to promote Eco Tourism so that our guests can visit ecologically preserved areas in the country. To achieve this, these areas and other ecologically endangered species need to be preserved.

Turtle Beach

Based on this, Turtle Beach Guest House and its partners from Sweden in collaboration with Sun & Moon Turtle Foundation in Ghana have identified areas where several kinds of sea turtles come out from the sea to lay eggs in the night. These turtles are one of the endangered species in the country, since the local people use to kill them and sell them to local restaurants.

Sun & Moon Turtle Foundation is focused on the conservation of the sea turtles. To make this possible we want to educate the community about the risk of turtles becoming extinct, and also to help the community to improve the sanitation on the beaches, since littering is a serious risk to the baby turtles. Through Eco Tourism we also want to bring development to the community.
